Four Generations of Financial Planning

Life Insurance sales have been in my family for generations. My Grandfather once sold Life Insurance. My Father sold insurance for many years and just like many small businesses he knew he needed a succession plan to look after the many clients who had chosen to work with him over the years so there would be some continuity. Therefore he invited me to join him in the life insurance business at age 23.  I have been in this industry since 1994. In the last year, I have invited my Second Daughter's Plus One; Sheldon Jans to Join me. Expanding the family succession plan.

It has been said when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail, and being only qualified to sell insurance products, I realized early on that not all problems could be solved by life insurance. Furthering my formal financial education, I enrolled and worked through the many courses to become a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Health Insurance Specialist.

Financial Planning -- 29 Years Experience

Over the last twenty-nine years my life has been committed to helping my clients understand the risks to their life, health and wealth that they are exposed to and finding solutions that are the right fit for them.

When Sheldon joined me, he attended every meeting with me for many months. Consistently we remarked how no two of my meetings were alike. When you approach every client meeting treating the families as unique individual and families that is what tends to happen.

Some days we are doing budgeting for a family, the next we are helping setup an education savings plan for a new baby, the next we might be working with helping a family pass what they have accumulated onto the next generations.

Just like the people around us, we are not exactly the same, so I am passionate about finding the correct solution to protect families of getting sick, dying too soon, or living too long.
